Overview
As we move into a more privacy conscious decade, we have gone back over our API data access policies and decided that users need to grant permission for sites to use their playlists and cuesheets. Those could have sensitive data in them, and the decision to use it shouldn’t be left to the sites or us.
Cuesheet Access
The Cuesheet API is not used heavily, but to not disrupt any current users, we’ll be leaving its access open until March 2nd, 2020. If you are using the Cuesheet API, please make sure the relevant users update their settings before that date.
Updating Access Settings
To access user data, you’ll need two things:
- An API Token with the
userdatapermission. This acts as a modifier to other API permissions and is required for the token holder to perform API actions scoped to a specific user (for example, viewing or editing a specific user’s playlist). - A user with
Allow Admins to Manage Your Dataturned on.
To change this setting, have your users visit their Dashboard > Account Settings page and look for this:
